We got these lovelies in the mail today for Bella Mi Photography. We wanted to take this simple business card and give it a little…. edge! Well Mandate Press helped us do just that. Thanks Kristin for being brave and letting us try out this fabulous process with you. And thank you Mandate Press for doing it so fabulously!

We recently created a wedding brand and custom stationery for Heather & Patrick. Check out some wedding highlights and stationery pieces below. We created the wedding monogram, invitation and rsvp postcard, thank you notecard, wedding program and custom rubber stamp.

We did a custom monogram especially for them and topped it off with a custom rubber stamp for the return address label for the back of their envelopes for the invitation as well as their thank you note. It’s something they’ll be able to use forever… or at least until they move.

The whole wedding brand was inspired the cake… which Heather found in a wedding magazine…

I am sure a lot of you have already seen Stacy Reeves’ charming, southern inspired branding, but for those that haven’t this is for you…

The strength of Stacy Reeves’ brand lies in the subtle essence of idyllic Southern charm and grace. The use of clean vertical stripes, soft color, and a crisp, but beautifully simple image-a bouquet of lavender – communicates that same charm and grace. All of these components come together into a myriad of unique combinations that take shape on the web, on stationary, and in packaging. It’s branding that goes beyond an image and extends into every component of client interaction. This approach translates into stylish, business cards printed on vintage handkerchiefs and product deliveries tied with ribbon, accented with fresh cuttings of lavender. All at once romantic and classic, the design is inviting – a warm and personal approach to business that defines Stacy Reeves.

Check out what Stacy had to say here.

We custom designed Stacy’s blog, but her talent boyfriend was responsible for the programming. He did a fabulous job making our design come to life. This project made us realize that custom is definitely the way to go! There is nothing worse than being constrained by a template… at least most of the time. Just wait ’til you see the custom blogsites we’ve been working on with Flosites!

While Lisa was in Atlanta (scouting for her new home-base) she and I were able to pay a visit to the oh-so talented Henry and Company for a press check on our lovely luxc business cards. Oh the pillowy letterpress goodness! It just made our day! So… here’s the low down… We knew we wanted the card to be simple… yet stunning. We are having a custom duplex made, which basically means that two sheets are glued together to make one lusciously thick stock (200lb Cover). We used French’s Poptone Whip Cream (100lb cover) and Construction Paver Red (100lb cover). We are using a variety of processes here. On the front the green is your traditional offset and the burgundy is letterpressed. The back is being stamped with a subtly darker shade of burgundy foil… put it all together… and… check it out! Well… at least a little sneak peek. We’ll show the final product sometime next week.

Letterpress is a true art form. We are in complete awe. Thanks to Jason Henry from Henry and Company who gave Lisa and I the grand tour. And a super special thanks also to Kip at Spartan Methods for making our stationery dreams come true!

We love, love all things paper, printing and stationery. When the three of us schemed up Luxecetera – we all agreed that having (and using) gorgeous stationery was a priority. We had such a lovely time designing for ourselves and it turned out to be easier than we thought. Designing our site was WAY more challenging than the pretty printed pieces.

luxc_0038

Not that we didn’t run into challenges … for one … we knew we wanted our envelope to be green, but found that there was nothing out there that matched our previously selected Pantone colors … we also knew that we wanted to use an envelope liner with our signature pattern. This is where having a really great printer comes in ’cause he was the one that suggested a custom converted envelope. Printing our signature green on the outside with the subtle creamy inside free for our pattern … making our job of stuffing envelopes much simpler. Simple Work flow = Happy Business Owners. Pricey, but totally worth it!

luxc_0000b

luxc_0042

We also knew that we wanted to use one envelope and since we aren’t formal kinda business owners – we knew we didn’t want the traditional business letterhead and envelope. We are note card kinda gals. But we did need a way to print receipts, invoices and quotes … and we opted to print a 7×10 sheet the would fit in that signature A7 envelope. FYI – we had Ashley’s techy husband set up an Excel file that matches up perfectly with our lovely little form.

luxc_0040

luxc_0124

We paired the 7×10 invoice sheet with a 5×7 folded note card.  After all … we are note card kinda gals.

luxc_0007

luxc_0034

So… between our printed pieces and our site… do you see our brand coming together?

luxc_0009

Here’s the rundown of papers and processes …

Envelope: 2/2 Ink | Custom Conversion | Sized A7 (5×7) | Printed Offset | French Paper’s Poptone Whip Cream 80lb text weight

Notecard: 2/1 Ink | Score line | Sized 7×10 folds to 5×7 | Printed Offset | French Paper’s Poptone Whip Cream 100lb cover weight

Invoice: 2/2 Ink | Sized 7×10 | Printed Offset | French Paper’s Poptone Whip Cream 80lb text weight

We did a press check on our business cards today … so look for another post later today or early tomorrow and the final product sometime next week.

Some final printed products are finally starting to be delivered! We have been on pins and needles waiting to be able to show off some of our recent projects. Melissa Mullen’s yummy letterpress business cards arrived on my doorstep yesterday. Letterpressed on Cranes soft Lettra stock, these business cards just enforce Melissa’s vintage inspired brand. Her brand will be featured in our branding section very soon.

And YES – we can take care of all of your printing needs as well… from letterpress, to offset, to digital, to stickers, calendars and everything in between… we have been making lots of new friends that are skilled in the art of fine printing (it really is an art). And believe me when I say that when it comes to printing (like most everything else) – you get what you pay for.
